Mission

The Community Over Code conference strives to achieve the following goals, positioning itself as a premier, open source, and highly technical collaborative event.

  • Strengthen Open Source Communities and Collaboration: Serve as a dedicated, collaborative, and vendor-neutral meeting place that brings together developers, users, contributors, and leadership across all Apache Software Foundation (ASF) projects and the broader open source ecosystem.
  • Deliver High-Quality Educational Content: Provide high-quality, in-depth technical sessions, hands-on workshops, and project-focused tracks that educate current and potential users on the benefits, applications, and latest developments in Apache and open source technology.
  • Prioritize Inclusivity and Direct Access: Foster a welcoming, deliberately intimate environment that ensures accessibility for participants at all levels—from students and individual users to project committers and organizational leadership—while actively welcoming newcomers with diverse talents and ideas into the community.
  • Inspire Future Leadership and Advocacy: Advocate the advantages of open source software and technology to new audiences, including governments, educational institutions, and businesses, and to actively inspire and cultivate the next generation of contributors and leaders in the FLOSS community.
